This Iron Cobra Power Glide is a twin kick pedal for the serious player. The pedal’s solid foundation can be attributed to its Super Stabilizer design that incorporates a wider baseplate and frame for absolute stability. At each pedals heel, the specially designed 3-piece Hinge Guard Block provides a more durable hinge point and also lengthens the footboard for increased leverage. At the heart of the Iron Cobra is the Power Glide cam, which is now the lighter, smoother, more natural-feeling LiteSprocket design. This cam is an offset double-chained Power Glide cam, which accelerates the stroke powerfully as it travels toward the bass drum head. Tama Iron Cobra 900 Power Glide Double Bass Drum Pedal. The Speedo-Ring rocker cam is yet another example of streamlining, eliminating spring friction with a high-quality, built-in ball bearing rocker. The Quick-Hook spring attachment eliminates wobbling, provides maximum power transmission to the Speedo-Ring, and helps facilitate quicker setup. To further improve speed and beater stroke action, the adjustable Cobra Coil spring-return constantly works to push the footboard back to its original position, tightening the relationship between players foot and the pedal. Perhaps one of the most innovative developments of the HP900PWN is its Swivel Spring Tight tension-locking mechanism, which is designed to rock or swivel, allowing freer spring movement and a smoother overall feel. The smartly redesigned Power-Strike Cobra Beater provides a fatter, yet more focused sound and optimizes beater action for strong, precise impact. Finally, the Iron Cobra brings an end to makeshift methods of trying to protect the bass drum hoop: the Para-Clamp II Pro holds the pedal securely to the bass drum hoop without scratching it or slipping, thanks to an enlarged rubber padded clamp piece. The Iron Cobra HP900PWN includes a custom hardshell carrying case for safe transport. For your consideration, a LATE 1980s-EARLY 90s PEARL DOUBLE BASS DRUM PEDAL. This double pedal is in great used condition but could stand to be cleaned up a little. This pedal is from the time that Pearl was beginning to make these a little more “heavy duty”. This is a good way to start playing a double bass drum pedal with a minimal investment! All that is really needed is the corresponding driveshaft for the left pedal. Please examine photo(s) for what you will receive. If you do not see it, it is not included. Be sure to check out all of my great cymbals, snare drums and drum shell packs in my drum cave!

The Iron Cobra achieved its legendary status because of its ability to strongly support both the artistic and logistical requirements associated with the art of drumming. Since its inception. Smooth, effortless performance and unparalleled response have been hallmarks of the Iron Cobra. In its efforts to expand the boundaries of this original design, TAMA has continued to work at improving the Iron Cobra, always with an eye towards bringing drummers closer to their own creative objectives. Now, through meticulous analysis of the Cobra. To keep left-side double pedals from walking, a special stabilizer is mounted to the outside frame. This augments the stability of the floor anchor bolts. The offset shape of the original Power Glide cam provides TAMA’s signature pedal action, which increases the beater’s power and speed as it reaches the end of the stroke. With 40% less weight than our previous sprocket, the new Iron Cobra offers faster, smoother, more powerful performance than ever before. Until now, the only way to adjust your beater stroke action was to tighten the pedal spring. The unfortunate result Heavy, sluggish action. The Cobra Coil solves the problem by adding a steel return spring. The return spring constantly presses the footboard to its original position, tightening the relationship between foot and pedal. Even better, the Cobra Coil is adjustable to different positions on the Iron Cobra footboard base plate. The constant evolution of Iron Cobra has always been driven, in part, by TAMA’s passion for soundor more precisely, TAMA’s passion to bring the best out of each and every bass drum on which Iron Cobra is played. The latest version of Iron Cobra features a smaller diameter but thicker beater heada combination that delivers more attack than previous designs. Also the distance between the beater head’s face and the shaft has been increased. Drummers found this alteration improved their sense of control during faster passages. The conventional approach to the spring assembly has been to anchor the bottom of the spring while the top of the spring is being pulled from various angles throughout the pedal’s cycle. But a spring being pulled on at an angle represents wasted energy and causes turbulence. The Swivel Spring Tight assembly solves this problem, recapturing that lost energy and optimizing smoothness through the use of a contoured assembly that allows the base to swivel freely with the spring. This enables a straight spring pull during the pedal’s entire cycle, resulting in the smoothest, lightest action ever found on a bass drum pedal. We’ve changed the construction of the Bearing Hinge on the footplate from a one-piece assembly to two pieces, which holds the bearing more evenlyminimizing stress, and maximizing smoothness, while adding to the pedal’s sense of power. To reinforce durability, the Iron Cobra 900 Series features a thicker 6 mm diameter shaft. Oiles® bearings create far less friction than standard ball bearings. They also eliminate unwanted side-to-side motion while providing superior durability. Vari-Pitch beater angle adjustments are completely independent of the footboard angle. The Speedo-Ring allows you to adjust the angle of the footboard link independently of the beater angle. The combination of the Speedo-Ring and the Vari-Pitch offer a range of incremental adjustments that will satisfy any style. TAMA eliminated another source of friction by replacing the traditional nylon rocker cam with the Speedo-Ring, a rocker cam with a high quality built-in ball bearing rocker. The Quick-Hook not only allows for easy setup and tear-down but also streamlines the pedal, allowing quick stowaway in the hard case without removing the beater. Quick-Hook not only allows rapid spring attachment and reattachment for rapid set up and tear down, it also eliminates wobbling and allows maximum power transmission to the Speedo-Ring. And you never have to worry about it slipping off during performance. You know what pedals go through night after night. After being stomped on over and over, they get thrown in bags and road cases where there’s more hard rock and roll than the gig itself. That’s why precision instruments like our Iron Cobras come with a specially designed protective carrying case. It’s amazing no one thought of it before. TAMA now introduces Para-Clamp II -an even more clever and useful version of the popular original. The Para-Clamp II is capable of gripping the widest variety of bass drum hoops ever. The improvement is largely due to its newly designed three-dimensional rubber grip. Holding power is increased and the possibility of scratching the hoop is eliminated. Furthermore, set-up and breakdown are easily facilitated, while sitting on a throne because the T-bolt of the Para-Clamp II Pro is on the side of the footboard, rather than under it.
