1937 – 1948 Chevy Car 7 Power Booster Brake Pedal Master Disc Drum Valves Kit. This is a Brand new Power Booster Brake Pedal Kit with Disc Drum Valves. This includes a bolt-on brake pedal assembly designed for 1937 1938 1939 1940 1941 1942 1943 1944 1945 1946 1947 & 1948 Chevy cars. Also included with this pedal is a high quality 7 dual zinc booster and master cylinder combo. This setup is ready for all disc/disc applications. The dual boosters offer 27% better stopping power over the single booster for the ultimate in performance and safety. The Corvette style master cylinder has a 1 bore and four ports (two on each side) for easier installation. Includes plugs for the ports you don’t use. Also included is a complete Disc/Drum Proportioning/Residual Valve Kit. This includes a brand new GM style Disc/Drum self-adjusting proportioning valve. This valve has a zinc coated finish. This valve is also called a combination valve, as it performs all of the necessary valving functions with a disc brake conversion. These functions include the following. As more force is applied to the brakes and the car begins to lean forward, less braking force is needed in the rear. This valve decreases the pressure to the rear, preventing lock up. Metering is used in the front disk brake portion in the disc/drum system to delay application of the front discs allowing the slower reacting drum brakes to catch up. This provides rear stability on wet surfaces and helps prevent front pad wear. There is no metering function with the disc/disc setup. Drum Brakes require residual pressure of 10 lbs. To be held in the line. This pressure keeps the brake shoes close to the drums giving you a more firm pedal feel. The disc/disc setup does not require this pressure. This valve has a system failure switch that will alert you when half of your braking system is not working properly. Also included is a pair of 2 pound residual valve for the front and rear disc brakes. These residuals prevent loss of brake pressure. They run in-line and act as a one way check valve and prevent fluid from bleeding back to the master cylinder. These valves are a MUST when mounting your master cylinder under the floor.
