The pedal is zinc plated for extra protection. This kit includes a bracket and pedal assembly designed for the 53-56 Truck. Also included is a high quality 7 dual booster and master cylinder combo. The dual diaphragm booster gives you 27% better stopping power over the single booster, making it better for cars that will have a heavier load. This setup is ready for all disc/drum applications. The master cylinder is a Corvette style master cylinder with a 1 bore. Additionally this includes a pair of residual brake pressure valves. One is the 2 Pound Pressure Valve (Blue) for Front Disc Brakes and one is the 10 pound pressure valve (red) for rear drum brakes. These valves are used with a disc brake application where the master cylinder is located under the floor. When the master cylinder is under the floor, it is usually lower than the calipers. Gravity and vibration can cause brake fluid to leak back to the master cylinder away from the calipers, causing a loss of brake pressure. These valves will act as a one way check valve that prevents this type of bleed-back. Without it, there is a good chance that the brakes will drag or give out completely! These valves are an inexpensive and necessary addition to your brake system. This kit includes a bracket and pedal assembly designed for the 47-54 Truck. Also included is a high quality 7 dual booster and master cylinder combo. The dual diaphragm booster gives you 27% better stopping power over the single booster, making it better for cars that will have a heavier load. This setup is ready for all disc/drum applications. The master cylinder is a Corvette style master cylinder with a 1 bore. Additionally you’ll receive a Zinc DISC/DRUM proportioning valve kit (self adjusting valve, lines and bracket to mount kit to the side of the master cylinder). The proportioning valve has a zinc finish. This valve is also called a combination valve, as it performs all of the necessary valving functions with a disc brake conversion. These functions include the following. Proportioning: As more force is applied to the brakes and the car begins to lean forward, less braking force is needed in the rear. This valve decreases the pressure to the rear, preventing lock up. Metering: Metering is used in the front disk brake portion in the disc/drum system to delay application of the front discs allowing the slower reacting drum brakes to catch up. This provides rear stability on wet surfaces and helps prevent front pad wear. There is no metering function with the disc/disc setup. Residual Pressure: Drum Brakes require residual pressure of 10 lbs. To be held in the line. This pressure keeps the brake shoes close to the drums giving you a more firm pedal feel. The disc/disc setup does not require this pressure. System Failure Switch: This valve has a system failure switch that will alert you when half of your braking system is not working properly. 1947-54 Chevy Truck Brake Pedal 8 Dual Power Booster Master Disc Drum Valve Kit. This is a Brand New 1947 – 1954 Chevy Truck power brake booster assembly. This pedal is designed to mount under the floor along the frame and includes the correctly angled bracket for perfect installation. Also included in this is a high quality 8 DUAL booster and master cylinder combo. Dual boosters have an extra diaghram for 27% more stopping power than an 8 Single booster. The master cylinder is Corvette style master cylinder with a 1 bore. It has four ports (two on each side) for easier installation. It also includes plugs for the ports you don’t use. Also included is a complete Disc/Drum proportioning and residual valve kit. This includes a brand new GM style Disc/Drum self-adjusting proportioning valve. This valve has a zinc coated finish. This valve is also called a combination valve, as it performs all of the necessary valving functions with a disc brake conversion. These functions include the following. As more force is applied to the brakes and the car begins to lean forward, less braking force is needed in the rear. This valve decreases the pressure to the rear, preventing lock up. Metering is used in the front disk brake portion in the disc/drum system to delay application of the front discs allowing the slower reacting drum brakes to catch up. This provides rear stability on wet surfaces and helps prevent front pad wear. There is no metering function with the disc/disc setup. Drum Brakes require residual pressure of 10 lbs. To be held in the line. This pressure keeps the brake shoes close to the drums giving you a more firm pedal feel. The disc/disc setup does not require this pressure. This valve has a system failure switch that will alert you when half of your braking system is not working properly. Also included is a 2 pound residual valve for the front discs and a 10 pound residual valve for the rear drum brakes. These residuals prevent loss of brake pressure. They run in-line and act as a one way check valve and prevent fluid from bleeding back to the master cylinder. These valves are a MUST when mounting your master cylinder under the floor. The pedal is zinc plated for extra protection. This kit includes a bracket and pedal assembly designed for the 53-56 Truck. Also included is a high quality 7 dual booster and master cylinder combo. The dual diaphragm booster gives you 27% better stopping power over the single booster, making it better for cars that will have a heavier load. This setup is ready for all drum/drum applications. The master cylinder is a Corvette style master cylinder with a 1 bore. Additionally this includes a pair of residual brake pressure valves. Both are the 10 pound pressure valve (red) for front and rear drum brakes. These valves are used with any brake application where the master cylinder is located under the floor. When the master cylinder is under the floor, it is usually lower than the calipers. Gravity and vibration can cause brake fluid to leak back to the master cylinder away from the calipers, causing a loss of brake pressure. These valves will act as a one way check valve that prevents this type of bleed-back. Without it, there is a good chance that the brakes will drag or give out completely!
