1947-54 Chevy Truck Brake Pedal 8 Dual Power Booster Master Disc Drum Valve Kit. This is a Brand New 1947 – 1954 Chevy Truck power brake booster assembly. This pedal is designed to mount under the floor along the frame and includes the correctly angled bracket for perfect installation. Also included in this is a high quality 8 DUAL booster and master cylinder combo. Dual boosters have an extra diaghram for 27% more stopping power than an 8 Single booster. The master cylinder is Corvette style master cylinder with a 1 bore. It has four ports (two on each side) for easier installation. It also includes plugs for the ports you don’t use. Also included is a complete Disc/Drum proportioning and residual valve kit. This includes a brand new GM style Disc/Drum self-adjusting proportioning valve. This valve has a zinc coated finish. This valve is also called a combination valve, as it performs all of the necessary valving functions with a disc brake conversion. These functions include the following. As more force is applied to the brakes and the car begins to lean forward, less braking force is needed in the rear. This valve decreases the pressure to the rear, preventing lock up. Metering is used in the front disk brake portion in the disc/drum system to delay application of the front discs allowing the slower reacting drum brakes to catch up. This provides rear stability on wet surfaces and helps prevent front pad wear. There is no metering function with the disc/disc setup. Drum Brakes require residual pressure of 10 lbs. To be held in the line. This pressure keeps the brake shoes close to the drums giving you a more firm pedal feel. The disc/disc setup does not require this pressure. This valve has a system failure switch that will alert you when half of your braking system is not working properly. Also included is a 2 pound residual valve for the front discs and a 10 pound residual valve for the rear drum brakes. These residuals prevent loss of brake pressure. They run in-line and act as a one way check valve and prevent fluid from bleeding back to the master cylinder. These valves are a MUST when mounting your master cylinder under the floor.
